Creating a New Grid Template

Use the Create New Grid Template portion of the Profile: Grid Management screen to define a new grid template.  (Note that you can base a new grid template on an existing template.  See the section entitled Creating a New Grid Template Using the Copy Function later in this chapter for details.)

 

1.      One blank grid line already appears.  Enter the number of ADDITIONAL rows needed for the grid in the Add Lines field.  You will enter a grid line for each branch you want to include. 

 

2.      Click Apply.  (If you need to delete lines that have been added, click the Select checkbox for the appropriate line(s), then click .)

 

3.      Make selections for each of the grid fields.

 

NOTE:  In each field you can click the down arrow (6) drop-fill button to copy the entry from the first row into every row in the column, or make entries in each row separately.

 

Create New Grid Template field

 

The fields are:

 

Qty

Enter a quantity for each branch.  You can enter the same quantity for every branch or different quantities for different branches.  Note that you can save a grid template with or without quantities specified.

 

Branch

If branch codes were established with Brodart, a branch code can be selected to identify the branch/account.  (You may have established a single code for each branch, or each branch might have a separate code to identify rush orders, paperbacks, hardcover books, and reference materials, for example.)

 

Processing Profile

Select the processing profile to be used for each branch/account. 

 

Collection

If you uploaded your ILS’s collection codes, select the collection code to be used for each branch/account (for example, Juvenile, Young Adult, Adult Fiction, etc.).

 

Item Type

If you uploaded your ILS’s item type codes, select the item type code to be used for each branch/account.  Select the type of format (for example, book, CD, videotape, etc.) for each branch.

 

Fund Code

If you uploaded your ILS’s fund codes, select the fund code to be used for each branch/account.

 

4.      Enter a unique name for this grid template in the Grid Template Name field adjacent to .

 

5.      Click  to save the grid.  The grid template you created will now appear in Existing Grid Templates. (Click  if you do not want to save the new grid.)
