Text Searches Fields
To specify search criteria, make entries in the fields in the Text Searches portion of the Search screen. The fields are:
Specify one or more ISBNs, separated by spaces. Enter up to 140 10-digit ISBNs or up to 110 13-digit ISBNs. Both 10-digit and 13-digit ISBNs can be combined in the same search. Note that if hyphens are used, they will be ignored.
Specify the name of an author for which you are searching. Search results include titles with the specified name either as the author OR as the co-author. Enter the name in the format:
Firstname Lastname
OR
Lastname, Firstname
OR
Lastname
Enter words that appear in the title of the book or books for which you are searching. Bibz searches for exact words specified in the Title field unless you use the asterisk (*) wildcard character. Specify search terms in any order. Remember, AND is the implied search operator. The search results will include all titles that include ALL of the words specified, in any order.
Example: If you enter
James Brown
in the Title field, the results will include the titles The American Novel from Brown to James, as well as James Brown the Godfather of Soul.
As noted above, Bibz performs an exact word match search in the Title field unless you use the asterisk (*) wildcard character.
Example: If you enter
Establish
in the Title field, the search results include only titles with Establish in the title, like How to Establish an Alternative School.
However, if you enter
Establish*
the search results will include books with Establish, Establishing, and Establishment in the title, like Establishing a University Foundation.
You can use the (NOT) and (OR) search operators to limit your search. For example, you can enter
Elvis (NOT) Life
to select titles that include the word Elvis but not the word life.
Also available is the ability to perform an Exact title search. Select Exact from the drop-down box at the end of the Title field textbox. This feature will search the entered text as an EXACT string against the main title (subtitle is not considered in exact searches).
Example: If you enter
Lost Light
in the Title field, with Exact selected, the search results will be limited to titles that match Lost Light exactly.
Remember that you can use a Subject search to find books ABOUT a topic that may not contain a particular word in the title.
Specify a series for which to search. Enter as much of the series name as you know. Bibz searches for both LC Series and Brodart Series that include the specified character string.
Example: If you enter
Little House
in the Series field, the search results will include the series based on the Laura Ingalls Wilder books.
If you enter
Bank
in the Series field, the search results include titles in the Bank Street Ready to Read series and World Bank Working Paper series.
Also available is the ability to perform an Exact series search. Select Exact from the drop-down box at the end of the Series field textbox. This feature will search the entered text as an EXACT string against Brodart Series.
Example: If you enter
Goosebumps
in the Series field, with Exact selected, the search results will be limited to titles that match Goosebumps exactly.

Enter a subject for which to search. Bibz performs an exact match, keyword search. Enter subjects defined by the following sources:
· LC - Library of Congress
· SEARS subject headings
· TIPS - Brodart subject categories
Search results include titles with the entire specified subject keyword in ANY of these sources.
Example: If you enter

You can enter multiple Subject keywords, and you can specify operators (NOT) and (OR).
Enter the name of a publisher for which to search. Search results will include books whose imprint publisher includes the word(s) you specify. Enter as much of the publishers name as you know. Bibz searches for publishers that include the specified character string as truncated searches.
Example: If you specify

in the Publisher field, the search results will include books published by William C. Brown Company and Little, Brown.
If you enter
