The uppermost header section of the screen is the same on all Bibz pages. It is anchored so that navigational controls are always present on the screen, without the need to scroll to reach them.
On EVERY Bibz page, the following features are available:
Click the Sign Out link on any screen to quickly end your Bibz session. This is especially useful for computers in unsecured areas.
In the Quick Search field on any screen, enter an ISBN, Brodart Number, Author, or Title keyword. Quick Search also includes Publisher, Co-author, and Editor when performing a search. Click the right arrow (4) icon to start the search. The Search Results page displays.
A few things to note in regards to Quick Search: the Refine Search button appears grayed out (Quick Searches cannot be refined), doesn't report invalid or unfound ISBNs, EANs, Brodart No(s)., or UPCs, and doesn't find combinations of author and title. When using Quick Search for McNaughton plans, results will only include eligible selections.
Click the tabs on any screen to select Bibz functions. Tab Navigation keeps the main pages of Bibz a single click away. The tabs are your primary navigation tool.
Click the Home tab to display the Home page. Click the Search, List, Order History, or Profile tabs to display the main pages for those functions.
To display the complete User's Guide with Contents, Index, and Search functions, click the Users Guide tab.
Click the Help icon () at the far right of the Secondary Navigation bar to display context-sensitive help related to the specific page you are currently viewing.
Directly below the tabs on any Bibz screen, the Active List Summary bar displays in dark blue. The summary includes the active list name (hyperlinked for quick and easy access), number of titles, number of items (total quantities of all titles), and total price. This information is updated as you edit your list(s). Note that if you are a McNaughton subscriber, total allowance will be seen here.
The left side of the same line displays your Username. (This may be helpful in the rare event that a user has multiple usernames.)
Below the dark blue bar, the Product and Processing Profile bar displays on each Bibz screen.
The currently active Product is displayed at the far left. Use product BOOKS & AV for book purchases. If you are a McNaughton plan subscriber, select one of the MCNAUGHTON plans to which your library subscribes. Note that if a McNaughton product is overdrawn, a warning message will display directly below the Product drop-down box.
While the Product displays in this bar on every Bibz screen, you must return to the Home page to change the product you are working with.
At the far right, the currently active Processing Profile is displayed. The Processing Profile drop-down box lists the cataloging and processing profiles you have been authorized to use in the ordering process. Users with multiple processing profiles and/or multiple McNaughton subscriptions should use caution to ensure proper processing and allowance deduction.
As you select titles, the current Processing Profile will be applied to each title. See the section entitled Specifying the Processing Profile in Chapter 2, The Search Tab for complete details.
Note that you can change the Processing Profile on any Bibz screen.
Processing Profile drop-down
The Secondary Navigation bar displays below the Processing Profile bar on each Bibz screen, with blue letters against a white background.
The Secondary Navigation links on each Bibz page allow you to select additional functions related to the currently selected tab. In the figure below, the Secondary Navigation links for the Search tab are illustrated.
Secondary Navigation
Click the links to display additional pages. Some tabs may not have Secondary Navigation controls. In that case, simply click the appropriate tab to navigate to your desired location. (For example, if you open a list, there are no Secondary Navigation controls on the List: OpenList screen. Click the List tab to return to the List Manager page.)
Click the Help icon () at the far right of the Secondary Navigation bar to display context-sensitive help related to the specific tab you are working on. Click the Users Guide tab in the anchored header portion of any Bibz screen to display the Bibz Users Guide with complete Contents, Index, and Search functions.
The breadcrumb trail displays below the Product Type at the far left of the Secondary Navigation bar, identifying the primary and secondary navigation path for the currently displayed page. In the illustration below, the breadcrumb trail indicates the current page was displayed by clicking on the Search tab and then clicking Saved Searches on the Secondary Navigation bar.
