Select this option on the List: OpenList screen to download MARC records from Bibz to your computer’s hard drive. The MARC records can then be imported into your ILS. When you perform this function, MARC records are created for all of the titles on the currently open list.
MARC records use a tag structure to convey information (for example, 100 for author, 245 for title). Each library system has its own MARC mapping profile established with Brodart, so MARC records are customized according to your requirements (for example, your library may want OCLC numbers or authors and titles to appear in upper case, etc.).
NOTE: If you use a grid template when selecting titles, the MARC records will contain “enriched order details.” That is, the MARC records will contain all of the information entered in the grid, including the number of copies for each branch, the funds the titles will be billed against, etc. When you perform the Download MARC Records process on the List: OpenList screen, all of the enriched order details will be included in the download and can be communicated to your ILS.
To create MARC records and download them to your computer’s hard drive:
1. Select the Download MARC Records option from the Actions drop-down box on the List: OpenList screen.
2. Click . A dialog box opens to prompt you through the process. If the File Download dialog box does not display, contact Brodart Technical support via e-mail at technicalsupport@brodart.com or call 800.474.9802, ext. 6555.
