Search
Criteria
The Search Criteria fields
display based on your User Preferences.
Additionally, criteria is limited by selected
McNaughton product. To review or change criteria, click on the Profile
tab, then select User Preferences from the Secondary Navigation bar. Check the
items you wish to see on the Search screen and click 
. Return to the Search screen by
clicking the Search tab. Click 
to the far right of each field to
quickly remove any Search Criteria fields from your display. If you remove an
option on this screen, you must return to Profile: User Preferences>Search
Criteria to re-select it. You may or may not see all of the fields
described below.

The default value for each field is
displayed at the far right of the field. If you make a different
selection, the default option is deselected.
In general, the selections you make in
the Search
Criteria portion of the screen identify categories to
include. The search results include titles with ANY of the criteria you
specify.
Example: If you select both Easy and Biography,
search results will include titles classified as either easy OR
biographies. The list will include both Christmas with the Mousekins and Twelve Rounds to Glory.
The Search Criteria fields are:
Select one or
more of the checkboxes to search for titles based on availability. If you
select more than one option, titles with any of the selected availability
statuses are included in the search criteria. The default is All Titles.
Example: If you select both Available and Must Order
Direct, search results include Available titles plus titles
with Must
Order Direct publication status.
The options
are:
Available includes titles that are available from
the publisher, including Not Yet Published titles.
Must
Order Direct
includes titles that must be ordered directly from the publisher.
In
Stock includes
titles that Brodart currently has in stock.
On
Order includes
titles that Brodart currently has on order with the publisher.
Select one or
more of the checkboxes to include titles by a broad Dewey classification.
The default is All Broad Classifications. The search results include titles
with ANY of the criteria you specify.
Enter a range to
filter the search to titles with Dewey numbers between the specified
numbers. Enter Dewey numbers in the format nnn.dddd where nnn are
whole numbers and dddd are decimals. The default
is All Dewey.
If only From
is entered, results will include titles with the specified Dewey number or
higher. If only To is entered,
results will include titles with the specified Dewey number or lower.
Enter a range to
limit the search to titles with Library of Congress alpha/numeric characters
between, and including, the specified information. Default is All LC
Class. Note that a space is needed between alpha and numeric characters
for valid results to display.
If only From
is entered, results will include titles with the specified LC Classification or
higher. If only To is entered,
results will include titles with the specified LC Classification or
lower.
Click one or
more checkboxes to limit the search to include titles with any of the selected
publication formats or select the All type control to select all of one
category. The default is All Formats. When a McNaughton product is
selected, the formats will adjust accordingly (for example, McNaughton Audio will
show only Audio formatting).
Click one or
more checkboxes to limit the search to include (
) or exclude (
)
titles. The default is All Descriptors. When a McNaughton product
is selected, the descriptors will adjust accordingly (for example, McNaughton
DVD will show only DVD descriptors).
Click one or
more checkboxes to limit the search to titles in any of the selected
languages. The default is All Languages.
Click one or
more checkboxes to limit the search to titles appropriate for any of the
selected age groups. The default is All Ages. When a McNaughton
product is selected, the age range will adjust accordingly (for example,
McNaughton Children will show only Age Ranges classified as Children).
Click one or
more checkboxes to limit the search to titles appropriate for any of the
selected grade ranges. The default is All Grades. When a McNaughton
product is selected, the grade range will adjust accordingly (for example,
McNaughton Children will show only Grade Ranges classified as Children).
Make
a selection from the
drop-down box to limit the search to titles included in that reading
program. Options are: Accelerated Reader, Reading Counts, Lexile,
and Guided Reading. The default is All Reading Programs.
If you select a
reading program, enter a Reading Level range in the adjacent
fields.

For Accelerated Reader, enter reading levels in the format ranging from 1.0-12.9
·
For Reading Counts, enter reading levels in the format, ranging from 1.0-12.9
·
For Lexile, enter reading levels ranging from 200-1700 in increments of 10 -
200, 210, 220, 230... 1690, 1700
· For Guided Reading, enter reading
levels ranging from A-Z
If only From
is entered, results include titles with the specified reading level or
higher. If only To is entered,
results include titles with the specified reading level or lower.
Enter a range to
limit the search to titles with a publication date between, and including, the
specified dates. Enter the date in the format mm/dd/yyyy
or click within the text box and a pop-up calendar appears..
The default is All Pub Dates.
If only From
is entered, results include titles with the specified publication date or
later. If only To is entered,
results include titles with the specified publication date or earlier.
Click one of the
radio buttons in the At
Least field to specify the minimum number of reviews that
must be available for a title to be included in the search results.
Users may also
specify Review Journals with or without review date range. Click in the
scroll box to limit the search to titles that have been reviewed in the
selected journals. To select multiple review journals, press the CTRL key
while making your selections. Unless you select a journal, by default,
this field is not used to limit the search.
Enter a date
range to limit the search to titles with a review between, and including, the
specified dates. Use the drop-down box(es) to select the month.
Enter the year in the format yyyy. The default
is Any Reviews.
If only From
is entered, results will include titles with the specified review date or
later. If only To is entered,
results will include titles with the specified review date or earlier.
Note that number
of reviews can be combined with selected review sources within a specific date
range.
*Review journal
content is licensed to Brodart Co. Brodart’s Bibz users and customers may not
sell, distributed or otherwise use this content separate from Brodart’s
products and services.
Click one of the
radio buttons to include titles with at least the selected
level of demand. Level of demand is based on Brodart's sales to libraries
including not yet published titles within the previous 13 months. The
default is All Demand levels, including Zero demand.
Note
that demand for a
particular title may be lower than you expect. In addition,
prepublication titles or very recent titles may have low demand at first.
If your search does not retrieve enough titles, try a lower demand level.
Enter a range to
limit the search by publishers list price.
If only From
is entered, results will include titles with the specified price or
higher. If only To is entered,
results will include titles with the specified price or lower.
